A blog written by someone who enjoys reading mystery novels and other books.
For me, the philosophies Louise Penny brings to her stories make the books.Michel
This is an especially good one. I like her writing altogether. She has a new book coming out. I have it pre-ordered.
Yes, good writing. I have her latest ordered from the library. When I first checked, they didn't have it listed. A week or so later I became #20 on the waiting list. Now there are over 40. Michel
I do electronic checkout from our library. I think it is great, but the downside is that with a book like a Louise Penny you put yourself on a list and wait, sometimes seemingly forever.I'm almost 70 years old. I know there will be a time when I won't be able to just get in the car and drive across town to the local library. I think electronic checkout really helps with that for older people who no longer drive but can see well enough to continue reading, especially on readers where you can enlarge the type. One of my prayers is that the time will come when library books are more readily available for electronic checkout. This is a longer answer than you expected. Your comment about the library triggered my thoughts about electronic checkout. Thanks. --Joe.
I'm so glad my comment triggered your thoughts on the electronic check-out. I had never considered it as a tool for people who might not otherwise be able to use the library. I would love to see you blog about it. If you'd like, of course. At any rate, thank you for sharing those thoughts!Michel
Michel, You are welcome. I will write more about this on occasion.
