Recent news has caused me to think about the question, "Is killing ever justified?"
Most good mystery novels somehow involve bringing justice. Solving the murder carries with it the idea that murder offends morality.
Not all books in the genre fit the pattern, but many do.
Is there an underlying morality in most mystery stories, or has that gone by the wayside? And is it necessary to have that sense of justice for you to enjoy the story?
